Chaka Khan
Chaka Khan, better known as the Queen of Funk, is an American recording artist. Through her long career that has stretched over five decades, she has won a total of ten Grammys. Billboard named her the 65th-most popular dancer of all time. Her grandmother introduced her to jazz while she was an infant. In the early years of her career, she was a member of various band. As time went on she would become a member of a band called Rufus. Together with the group, she released her first album in her 20s. They won their first Grammy award the following year. She released her self-titled debut album only a few years later than her debut solo album. As time passed, she issued a series of albums, such as 'Echoes of an Era,' 'The Woman I Am,' and Funk This. Also, she is known for her charitable work. She created her foundation, the Chaka Khan Foundation to help children of poor families in addition to children with autism. Khan has also worked as an actress on occasion. She was Sister Carrie who played the leading role in the musical "Mama, I'm Wanting to Sing'.
